Bio
This journal is FRIENDS ONLY-- Commenting on my FO page does NOT guarantee an add, unless I know you IRL. Authenticity, Truth, and Honesty are *very* important to me. If we've talked before in a community or on another person's journal or whatever, it's very likely I'll add you back, so just ask! I don't usually add friends at random, but if you tell me how/where you came upon my journal, I might consider it. However, if for any reason I feel folks are misrepresenting themselves once they've been added, I will not hesitate to remove them from my f-list without warning, end of. Public posts consist of book and movie reviews, memes, and other random webjunk. I've also kept entries from the months I spent in New Zealand public - everything else is locked. My journal, my rules; savvy? Okay then - moving on.

I'm a 20-something female currently living and working in the NYC area while I decide what I want to be when I grow up. This is turning out to be quite a challenge because while I have a degree in sociology and currently work in finance, my interests range from public health to publishing to community outreach to law. I also haven't completely ruled out going back to university for an advanced degree, but I want to be sure of my specialty before dropping the big bucks on graduate school. Spending the first half of my life in the Bronx has given me the quintessential 'New Yorker' attitude, despite spending the second half of it in various parts of upstate New York. Much of my personality and mannerisms come from having large Puerto Rican and Italian extended families, and of course, the quirks associated with being the daughter of an immigrant, the youngest child, and someone who spends too much time inside their own head. In simpler terms, I can be described as an ESTJ, though recently i've been testing as ISTJ.

I enjoy books, people watching, music, traveling, movies, old school Nintendo (meaning NES and SNES), psychology and sociology, romance languages, good food/drinks with friends, long conversations about anything and everything, nerdy/geeky things, New York City, and tons of other stuff in between. I don't enjoy cigarette smoke, tardiness, talking on the phone, being misquoted, having to repeat myself more than once, and bad manners. I've got HUGE amounts of love for my family, my friends, and my amazing boyfriend. I've got equal amounts of hate for anything that threatens any of those things. I also don't take myself too seriously, and it's true what they say: I never cease to be amused! And you shouldn't either. oh, and a growing list of some fangirling can be found here.
